This video did not need to be watched to know that there would be chaos and no justice without the help of the supreme court. This is because the Supreme court is the most powerful court in not just our nation, but any nation.
Something interesting I noticed in this video that I learned was how difficult it is for the justices to adjust to the lifestyle they have. Some state that it can take between three to five years in order to fully adjust to their own lifestyle to be a norm to them.
This video dug deep into the life of the justices and how their work is a lot harder than one would think. One court ruling could take up to a year's debate, as well as the justices often change their opinions once a decision is made. Just the adjustments could take months, after the ruling was made. This puts into perspective how much the members of the supreme court care about the United States and fighting for an organized and united society.
No one prepared me for learning how complex our supreme court in the United States really is. This I learned, is the reason that the power of the court is trusted by the people and earned by the court.
The most important take away from the Supreme court in regards to the people is that the Justices should be truthful and do as much as they can to earn the people's trust. This is because the people of the United States pour their trust to the Supreme Court, even though they aren't being forced to. The people use the Supreme Court to determine the verdict of some of the most life changing cases of someone's life. No one is telling the people to trust the justices, yet they still put so much trust on the shoulder's of the justices.
The most important take away from the supreme court in the eyes of the justices is probably to be truthful and stick to their tuition and not let others opinions have an effect on theirs. This video states that come of the cases can go on for months after the verdict is made. The decision can switch sides and the majority can turn into the minority. If the justices care about only wanting to be on the majority side, instead of staying true to their own beliefs on whats right, they would never know that the majority could naturally end up switching to their desired side.
The most surprising thing I learned from this video is the comments made by the justices themselves. They explained that it took them a while to adjust to the lifestyle of their job once they got it. This was surprising because many people grow up to have a job, and there is never any talk from any of those people about how it took them over a year, if not up to five, to get used to their new lifestyle from getting a new job. The Justices state themselves in this video that it can take up to three years until it does not feel strange having that particular job, and others say the same thing but up to five years. They state that after the certain amount of years, their work becomes proper work and they are fully adjusted and they just forget that they are there for work.
Coming from personal experience, and talking to people with personal experience with full time jobs, I have never heard of a job that is this hard to adjust to. This is surprising to me because it really shows how much the justices love their jobs and are dedicated to them.
To follow up with that, this video as well as this video worked together to change the way I think of the Supreme Court in a few ways. Before I watched this video as well as this video, I did not know all of the hard work that goes into the Supreme Court by everyone involved, most importantly the Justices. It makes me respect them more given the fact that they will wait up to five years of being out of their comfort zone to be there for the people and serve them.
There are so many people involved in one court process of the Supreme Court including the Justices, the translator, Public Info Officer, the Supreme Court , Corresponders, and many more. These people all take so much time and dedication out of their lives to make a decision that could change someone's life and they do it the right way and up to par, which shows how much they care about the people, who they do not even know.
